Welcome, everyone, to another edition of Fire It Up Friday, where we discuss all of the things that we’re looking forward to. Having a sense of hopeful anticipation can be such a good thing for your mental health. I’ve been looking forward to going to bed lately. That feeling when my head hits the pillow and I’m all cozy under the covers is something so simple and precious, and something that I’m grateful for every single day.
It’s not even the sleep itself that I look forward to; it’s just the feeling of being safe and content under the covers. I’m not sure what y’all’s bedtime routines entail, but “going to bed” for me means sitting up for a bit longer reading a book before I start to doze off, and then I lie down and sleep. I absolutely love that part of my day, and I look forward to it!
There are so many little moments in this life that we can look forward to, but it can be so easy to look past them and treat them as trivial experiences that we have every single day, so why would they be special? The truth is, every moment of your life is special. All of the experiences that you have in your life can be considered special events, events to look forward to.
